It's October, Surprise!

How a Desperate Trump Will Win on November 3, 2020

This election is Trump's last chance. The way forward for him occurred to me as I was reading Andrew Krepinevich's 7 Deadly Scenarios. It's a military analyst's apocalyptic look mapping possible routes to nuclear war. Krepinevich is a prominent figure in Washington. I've interviewed him. http://bitly.ws/8Y2G

But this short essay is not about him.

This essay is about the route Trump might take to a November triumph. All it would require to succeed would be a wink across the dance floor between Trump and Putin. Wink, wink first: Putin wants Trump in office, and both will make sacrifices to stay in power.

The stage is set. For months, front-line Russian bombers have been making dangerous low-level combat runs at US warships in the Black Sea. Elsewhere, Russian destroyers have set flank speed collision courses on US warship in the Philippine Sea. (Russians in the Philippine Sea?)

For weeks, Russian TU-95 bombers accompanied by lethal SU-35 fighter escorts have penetrated the Alaskan Air Defense Identification Zone (AADIZ). US F-22 fighters have been scrambled to meet them.* If someone got a bloody nose in the Black Sea, or a dog fight ranged over the Bering Sea, sabres would rattle.

And The nation always rallies around a President in times of military conflict. The strategy will make Trump will look tough on Russia, and the Pentagon would put the sins of the White House aside to come to the nation's defense.

It's 57 days until October and 90 days to the election. Covid-19 has been allowed to run wild by troop. Who's going to be there to vote, when war and the plague threaten the nation?
